Silas Birtwistle is a sculptor who has achieved international acclaim for his work, more specifically his commissions for the United Nations. Birtwistle started marking furniture in the 90s and soon after, exclusively with driftwood. The inspiration behind this was from artist and friend, Bob Law, who was known for his minimalism, most notably, a series of large black canvasses.
